At Totally Positive Productions (TPP), we believe that every young person deserves the chance to discover their potential and shine. For over 30 years, our organization has served as a beacon of hope in Chicago’s Englewood, West Englewood, Back of the Yards, and surrounding neighborhoods—communities too often impacted by poverty and violence. 

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to produce positive “off the street” activities and talent competitions for youth and adults as a deterrent to gang and drug involvement.

Unleashing Talent, Building Leaders

What sets TPP apart is our focus on fostering creativity and leadership through the arts. We organize Positive Rap (P-RAP), singing, dance, theater, and spoken word competitions that provide a safe, supportive environment for self-expression. Here, young people are encouraged to channel their energy into performances free of violence, profanity, or negativity—lifting each other up and becoming role models in their own right.

More Than Just Entertainment

But our work goes beyond the stage. TPP’s Community Works Crime Prevention Project equips youth and adults with essential crime prevention strategies, empowering them to make safer choices. Our Educational/Cultural Enrichment Field Trips introduce participants to opportunities beyond their neighborhoods, broadening their horizons and inspiring dreams for the future. We also ensure that everyone who comes through our doors receives a nourishing meal, recognizing that hunger should never stand in the way of success.

Employment, Service, and Community Spirit

At TPP, we open doors to meaningful employment and volunteer opportunities for youth, adults, and even senior citizens. Our programs help participants build skills, gain real-world experience, and give back through community service. Initiatives like “Love Your Community – Random Acts of Kindness” demonstrate our commitment to spreading positivity—one bouquet of flowers, hygiene kit, or shared smile at a time.

Real Stories, Lasting Impact

We’ve seen firsthand the difference a positive outlet can make. Take Victor, a foster child who arrived at TPP barely able to read or write, struggling with confidence and behavior. Through our supportive environment, Victor not only improved his reading skills but also became a straight-A student and is now training as a teen leader in our programs.
